Joden Girl
Baubles, Bling and A Collector’s Things
With an appraised value of $141,785.00, you might be thinking we’re talking about a house. Or perhaps a car… but not a ring, right? Wrong. At least when it’s a showstopper like this!
The center diamond is an absolutely dazzling round brilliant beauty weighing exactly 8.10 carats. Just take that in for a moment. That’s not a combined weight of several small stones, but rather one singular stone. 8.10 carats. Wow! This is a ring that will make you take more than a second glance – in fact, you just can’t stop staring.
Nothing screams luxury quite like diamonds and platinum. There are twelve round brilliant diamonds “bead and bright” set into the shoulders of the ring. This is considered to be one of the oldest forms utilized in the setting of round melee. The platinum around each stone is carefully carved using a sharp graver in an expert hand. The metal is chiseled into beads (a.k.a. prongs) that hold the small diamonds in place. Next these beads are shaped using a hand-held tool that forms each one into a perfectly shaped half round ball. Finally, the craftsman goes back to his graver to create the cuts that form the wall or channel portion of the style. This time-honored technique was a favorite of jewelers in the Edwardian and Art Deco eras. It’s often employed today to bring a vintage feel to a modern design.
Six additional round brilliant diamonds are bezel set around the edge of the head that holds the center diamond. The eighteen side stones have a combined weight of .50 carat, bringing the total diamond weight of the ring to 8.60 carats!
As unusual as this ring is, it’s not unusual for us to have a piece like this in our every day inventory. In fact, we specialize in diamonds that weigh over two carats each… we stock them in real quantities; not merely one or two. At Joden, we know that when you make a once in a lifetime purchase, you want to buy it from an expert. You want the reassurance of knowing your personal jeweler is confident and comfortable with gems of all sizes. Let’s be honest, you wouldn’t go to a Chevy dealer to buy a Bentley, would you?
As I mentioned earlier, this ring has an outside laboratory certificate valuing it at $141,785.00. For those of you dying to know the selling price – it’s available upon request. Serious inquiries only.
