Rich cobalt blue enamel sets the stage in this striking but charming brooch. A white enamel painting depicts a cherub floating atop waves in a shell. The shell carriage is escorted by a pair of birds. Faint gold enamel details further accent the design. A plain gold frame holds the painting. The back of the frame is affixed with a pin stem and a fold down bail allowing this brooch to also be worn as a pendant. The back of this piece is marked "Made in France". This piece measures 1½ inches long and 1 1/8 of an inchwide at the widest point. Having so many unique characteristics, Joden Girl did some homework on this brooch when she chose it for the blog.
