Hello, lover…

This dreamboat just sailed into my day and I am completely smitten. I would not change a single thing (except the size… this beauty won’t even go over my knuckle! Luckily we have the hook-up for that.) Made near the end of the Art Deco era, this ring is platinum from top to bottom and is in exemplary condition.

Four soft scallops arch up to create the prongs that hold the center stone. These bar-shaped claws are unusually positioned at twelve, three, six and nine o’clock. Each inverse arch is expertly set with single-cut diamonds. These small sparklers continue down both sides of the ring; each one nestled within a handcrafted setting featuring milgrain edges. Twenty-four in all, these diamonds have a combined weight of about .30 carat. The overall feel of the design is very botanical.

A transitional European cut, the center diamond measures approximately 1.24 carats. It’s perfectly fitted to the ring or maybe the ring is perfectly fitted to the stone. Either way, the pairing is tough to beat. It’s moderately priced at $6,800.00. We have many Art Deco jewels in the store. In fact, an entire case is devoted to that period – three tiers overflowing with rings, pendants, earrings and bracelets from the 1920’s and 1930’s. But not one of them is quite like this one. Trends come and go in the jewelry world. Some of them are gone before we have a chance to enjoy them and others become instant classics – like these navette rings. These elongated filigree rings are highly sought after and VERY desirable. Every time we post a photo of one of these ethereal beauties on social media, it blows up.

These two gems are both from the Art Deco era (1915-1935), one a bit earlier than the other. Both rings are made from 18 karat white gold and both feature intricate filigree patterns.

Five Old European Cut diamonds create a vertical line down the center of the ring with one additional stone on each side. These seven diamonds have a combined weight of 1.00 carat. These gems glitter in the center of a very architectural, classic Art Deco setting. Milgrain beaded lines create a gridwork in the background, while the outer edges are lined with complex patterns of engraving. This engraving is still crisp and in excellent condition. Made in the 1920’s, this dazzling beauty is moderately priced at $2,200.00.

Then, we have this little charmer… With an hourglass shape, this ring is oh-so-feminine. Three bright white diamonds are fitted to the middle of the ring. They draw the eye, creating a focal point. Engraved into the top of each shoulder is a flower, complete with stem and leaves. The background pattern of this antique is a woven wirework of loops and swirls. Priced at $1,340 – this dainty ring won’t last long.

This week’s selection from Joe’s Special Box is a real beauty. A super sweet little gem from the 1920’s, this late Edwardian/early Art Deco ring sparkles from every angle. Hand-crafted from platinum, this piece features an Old European Cut diamond center that weighs approximately .65 carat. It’s bezel-set within a diamond encrusted mounting… twenty-eight additional stones are nestled into each milgrain-accented section of the ring. These diamonds have a combined weight of .50 carat. Hand engraved decorative patterns add another layer of dimension to this eye-popping enchantress. Priced to sell at just $2,925 – it’s a steal of a deal!
