Rolling In Clover

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling and Wishful Things

As we approach nearly a year of living in a COVID world, each of us is filled with hope for the coming months.  The icy cold days of February are behind us and the bright sunny days of March are upon us.  With the sun shining through my window, I can’t help but be optimistic.

St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner.  This Irish celebration is rich with tradition and perhaps one of the most iconic symbols of all time, the shamrock.  Many confuse the four-leafed clover with the shamrock, which has just three leaves.  They are believed to represent the Holy Trinity – the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The shamrock, or three-leafed clover has been a beloved symbol in jewelry for hundreds of years.  These charming little sprigs are often seen in Victorian jewelry, like this piece.

This sweet necklace is one of our favorites – a conversion piece featuring not one but two tiny clovers.  Previously a bar pin, this 14 karat yellow gold beauty is ideal for every day wear.  It measures 17 inches in length but can easily be adjusted to fit anyone.  Six seed pearls add to the charm of this dainty jewel, modestly priced at just $325.00.

These 18 karat yellow gold earrings are irresistible and complete the look!   A series of tiny seed pearls have been hand-sewn onto a solid gold clover shape.  Perfectly sized, these shamrock earrings are lightweight and comfortable.  Hanging just below the lobe, they offer subtle ornamentation – just the thing for every day wear.  Priced at just $375 – they’re too good to pass up.

I can’t seem to resist the combination of these pieces!   It’s complimentary without being matchy-matchy.  Both are listed on our site – add them BOTH to your cart for just $700!  Whether you’re celebrating St. Patrick’s Day or simply enjoying the sun – do it wearing this dainty duo.  They’re sure to bring a smile to your face.

Joe’s Special Box – Volume 52

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling, and A Collector’s Things

The array of treasures in Joe’s Special Box never ceases to amaze me…  like this little bauble, for example.  It’s just so cool!  I love every aspect of it – from the elegant sweep of the pirate cutlass sword to the precise white enamel lines on the headdress.  For a decade during the late Victorian Period, from 1860-1870, there was a smaller movement known as Egyptian Revival.

Ancient Egypt was an inspiration for artisans of all types – the passion for Egyptian artifacts and style swept across Europe like wildfire.  Jewelry from this period is highly prized among collectors.  The simple sophistication of this brooch is the very thing that makes it as wearable today as it was when it was made.  Two rows of rose cut diamonds add a hint of sparkle to the strong lines of the carved face.  I am picturing it on a scarf, a lapel…  or converted to a necklace!  Reasonably priced at $1,750.00 – this piece awaits you at Joden Jewelers.  And as always…

When In Doubt, Put A Bow On It

Joden Girl

Bows and Bling – It’s a Joden Girl Thing

Every girl loves a great bow, right?  This week – I have the perfect one.  Check out this little darling!  Made from an early Art Deco pin, this conversion necklace features a few of my favorite things.  First, as I mentioned, it’s a conversion necklace – I love taking a lovely vintage brooch that isn’t being worn and making it fresh and new again.  It’s such a simple fix!

Now, look at the incredible detail…

Can you see the lacy pattern?  Closely resembling petit point embroidery, the ribbon showcases a delicate design of parallelogram-shaped flowers interspersed with milgrain edging and linear borders.  This filigree work is the ideal complement to this sleek and stylized bow.

The bow itself is three-dimensional adding a layer of authenticity to this beauty…  it also offers a finished back.  The smooth and high-polished surface lays like silk on the skin while also providing structure for what might otherwise be a fragile piece.

An iconic shape in jewelry since the 1700’s, the bow is a classic and will always be fashionable.  Add an air of femininity to your summer style with this trendy conversion necklace…  available now at joden.com for just $950.00.
