Pick of the Week – Volume 49

Joden Girl

Baubles and Bling with Unbelievable Pricing

As we continue to re-visit previously featured Picks of the Week, we couldn’t resist this lovely pairing.ย  We’ll call it “Yellow Gold, Two Ways.”ย  Both rings are made from the rich warm tones of 18 karat yellow gold but one ring is vintage and one is vintage-inspired.ย

This ring brings to life all the beauty of the Art Nouveau era in a new and modern ring.ย  With a pair of six-petaled blossoms etched onto the outside edges of the ring, it offers subtle botanical ambiance.ย  The entire top half of the ring is decorated with a deeply etched swirled pattern.ย  It cascades down the shoulders, encapsulating two tiny diamond sections.ย  There are six single cut diamonds in total – three on the left and three on the right.ย  The crowning glory of the ring is a .76 carat Old European Cut diamond.ย  Unlike the mounting (brand new with Art Nouveau design influences), this diamond is an authentic old stone.ย  It completes the design to perfection.ย  Originally priced at $5,000 – this ring has a featured Pick of the Week price of just $3,675.00.

This primitive piece is a true antique.ย  Hallmarks inside the shank of the ring ascertain that the ring was made during the 1860’s.. over 160 years ago.ย  It’s in remarkable condition and features a table cut diamond in the center, a cut more commonly used in the 1700-1800’s.ย  This uniquely faceted diamond is quite deep and weighs 1.00 carat.ย  Surrounding this diamond, in a square-shaped halo, are an additional twenty stones.ย  These rose cuts have a combined weight of .30 carat.ย  Because this ring is made from 18 karat gold, which tends to be soft, the surface is etched with countless tiny scratches giving the piece a lovely patina – a favorite detail of ours.ย  Initially priced at $5,350.00 – this ring has been price-reduced to just $4,770.00!

A pair of rings like this make it difficult to decide…ย  true vintage or vintage-inspired?ย  If it’s the right ring, perhaps it doesn’t matter at all.ย

Pick Of The Week – Volume Two

Joden Girl

Baubles and Bling with Unbelievable Pricing

I have always been partial to the Art Nouveau period – it’s utterly feminine and oh-so-romantic.ย  Featuring enameled flowers of every kind, sinewy lines and organic forms, this brief period (1890-1910) captured my heart from day one.ย  Pieces from this time are predominantly yellow gold, a rich color tone that brings warmth and enhances the enamel that is often present.ย  It is a period in jewelry that has since influenced other artisans and jewelers to replicate that timeless appeal.ย ย

Without further ado, I present to you “The Piece of the Week”!ย  This 18 karat yellow gold ring is truly Art Nouveau inspired.ย  An Old European Cut diamond sits center stage, weighing exactly .76 carat.ย  This gem was hand set by our own Steve Becker here in our expert shop.ย  I love that we chose a diamond that is authentic to the Art Nouveau period to complete the original feeling of this ring.ย ย

ย

A delicate milgrained detail cascades down each shoulder perfectly encapsulating the three single cut diamonds held within.ย  These six tiny diamonds have a total weight of .05 carat.ย  A botanical ambiance is created with a series of curved lines that seem to represent vining stems and leaves.ย ย

My favorite detail is the small six-petaled flower that is featured on each side of the ring.ย  It’s a small, yet beautiful element that brings the Art Nouveau vibe full circle.ย  This gem has been available on our website for $5000.ย  We are offering it now for the steal-of-a-deal price of just $3,675.00.ย  This ring is an ideal combination, it offers the look and feel of an authentic Art Nouveau piece in a modern new gem.ย  This unbelievable price only lasts a week, buy it now!

Joe’s Special Box – Volume 73

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling, and A Collector’s Things

$4400…ย  that’s just $100 a year for every year that I’ve been alive.ย  I think I’m worth it, right?ย  This ring from Joe’s Special Box has me feeling some kinda way, if you know what I mean.ย  It’s so unique.ย  Unusual.ย  Different.ย  And isn’t that what jewelry is all about?ย  I don’t know about you, but I don’t want what everyone else has.ย  Why settle for ordinary when you could have extraordinary?

It reminds me of a flower…ย  a diamond daisy.ย  Sixteen platinum petals fan out from the center, each one is carefully set with either two or three Old Mine Cut diamonds.ย  These thirty-eight stones have a combined total weight of approximately 1.00 carat.ย  Nestled into the heart of the ring is one round brilliant diamond that weighs about .80 carat.ย  This modern beauty is the perfect addition to the ring…ย  but I don’t think it’s the original center stone.ย  Small clues, like the cut of the stone and the way it’s been fitted to the ring lead me to believe that it was added later.ย  Perhaps it was a remount, a re-fashion, or a conversion piece.ย  In any case, someone took a vintage ring and made it their own.ย  And now it’s ours.ย  Perhaps soon it will belong to one of you.ย  โ™ฅ
