Joden Girl
Baubles, Bling, and a Pearl Ring
La Belle Epoque… The Beautiful Era – more commonly known as the Edwardian Period. Named after King Edward in England, the years between 1901-1915 produced some of the most beautiful jewelry of the past 100 years. These jewels took a nod from the graceful lines of Art Nouveau jewelry and combined it with the classic designs of decades gone by… the result was stunning. Primarily monochromatic; utilizing platinum, diamonds, and pearls – it was a luxurious delicacy that is still highly sought after today.
This little charmer is the epitome of Edwardian elegance. With a warm yellow gold base, we can date the ring to pre-1903 (the invention of the oxyacetylene torch in 1903 allowed metal to be heated to much higher temperatures, paving the way for jewelry constructed completely from platinum. This eliminated the need to lay platinum on top of gold – although, aesthetically speaking – I love that crisp line created by layering the two metals). The Art Nouveau influence is evident in the soft curving lines that create the shoulders of the ring… add in those killer Old Mine Cut diamonds and a natural pearl center, and we have the stuff Edwardian dreams are made of. It’s available in our showroom now for just $2100.00.
