The Ties That Bind

Joden Girl

Baubles and Bling – It’s a family thing!

These bright and colorful earrings are an integral part of a suite of jewelry recently acquired at Joden.  Like many parures, it is comprised of multiple pieces that can be disassembled and then reconfigured to create different looks.

The collection is ensconced in the original fitted leather case…  with the jewelers name carefully inscribed on the ivory satin lining.

Krausz Testverek – or Krausz Siblings – a jewelry store located in Budapest in the late 1800’s into the early 1900’s.  Like Joden, it was a family owned business and according to these lovely examples of advertising – they too specialized in antique jewelry.

Five individual components (a necklet, a brooch, a pair of earrings, a small drop pendant, and a connecting segment) are elaborately set with a multitude of color.  Foiled settings bring life to the square cut emeralds and peridot.  These gems are evenly spaced by lavish pops of pink tourmaline and white pearls.  Further enhancing the design is an intricate pattern of black, white, and blue enamel.

Here you can see each individual piece and then the necklace fully united.  So many possibilities – check it out on this video…

Perhaps you’re thinking that you don’t have anywhere to wear this – but let’s break it down.  Wear the earrings and brooch to work, add in the necklet for dinner out.  And for special occasions, clip it all together for an amazing statement necklace!  Fashion and function, you can’t go wrong.

Joe’s Special Box – Volume Ten

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling, and A Collector’s Things

Take a long drink of these Pink Ladies….  much like the classic cocktail, this dazzling duo display frothy white diamond details further accented with a delicious blush colored center.  It’s enough to make your head spin.

Let’s draw this analogy out a bit further…  the ring on the left is definitely the “Sandy Olsson” of the two.  Soft curving feminine lines and lacy details speak for themselves in this demure beauty.  Crafted from platinum during the Art Deco period featuring a glorious pink topaz center – you can’t resist it.  Every Danny needs his Sandy

And then there’s Betty Rizzo – or Rizzo for short.  You can’t stop staring, can you?

Also made from platinum, this head-turner is all strong lines and hard edges…  but at heart, you’ll see the softer side; a gorgeous fancy cut Pink TourmalineEat your heart out!

Pieces like these are the reason that “Joe’s Special Box” exists.  It’s a haven for rare beauties.  Like they say…  “Act cool, look cool, be cool.  Til death do us part, think pink!”   And as always…

“Go to our site and look, then come to Joden and touch.”

Pinktober

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling, and Pink Things

This morning – in the midst of packing backpacks, finding homework, and pouring bowls of cereal – I quickly changed around the laundry to save myself some time later.  I pulled the clothes from the dryer; a black and gold Grove City Eagles jersey with the #2 on it, shiny black pants, and a pair of bright pink socks… everything my oldest son will need to dress for his game tomorrow.  He also proudly adds his pink arm bands and adheres strips of pink tape to everything from his visor to his cleats.  If it were January or any other month of the year, he wouldn’t even consider wearing pink – but this month, he and his teammates honor all those who have battled breast cancer.

That got me thinking pink, in every variety…  pink gold, sparkling pink gemstones, and soft pink enamels.  Pink, pink, pink!

pink-3 pink-2 pink-1

These three pieces are just a couple of examples of the unique pink jewels we have in our online store; from a pair of David Yurman pink tourmaline earrings to a modern Rhodonite ring.  There are infinitely more choices in our store at 144 South Broad Street.  So, whether you are wearing pink for yourself or in honor of someone else, Joden is the place to get it!
