Pick of the Week Holiday Edition – Volume 3

Joden Girl

Baubles and Bling with Unbelievable Pricing

As promised, we’re back with yet another of our favorite pieces.  Navette-shaped, this elegant ring measures an inch from tip to tip – this style has been beloved for more than 150 years.  Victorians embraced the elongated profile, decorating them with everything from diamonds and colored stones to pearls and turquoise.  This sleek stunner has been on our site for a minute; and to be honest, we’re shocked that it hasn’t sold.

The perfect compliment to any hand, this antique beauty is made from rosy 14-karat yellow gold.  A cushiony-oval natural ruby fills the center of the ring; it’s held in place by four prongs.  Exhibiting a rich raspberry hue, this precious gem weighs approximately 1.40 carats.

Ruby is the July birthstone and has long been utilized to celebrate 40 years of marriage.  Widely accepted as the most desirable of all gemstones, rubies are prized for their glorious red color.  Known as the gemstone of courage, legend has it that those who wear rubies will live a life devoid of fear.  Enhancing this ruby are twenty-six Old Mine Cut diamonds.  Sparkling and shimmering in the light, these diamonds have a combined weight of approximately 1.50 carats!  A single stone marks both the Northern and Southern tips of the ring while the remaining two dozen stones fill the 1890’s setting to perfection.

These photos show the ring on both the middle finger of my left hand as well as the ring finger of my right hand illustrating that this ring is as versatile as it is beautiful.  It looks great and is comfortable and easy to wear.  Rubies and diamonds are extremely durable and ensure that this ring will look great for years to come.  As promised, each piece in this series will be offered at a new and unbelievable price.  Previously listed for $4,850.00, this ring is now priced at just $4,100.00!  Click the photos to take to our site where you can make it yours.

What’s New – Volume 5

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling, and The Latest Things

The word retro is defined as reviving the style of the past.  That definition alone makes me think that the 1940’s era known as the Retro period was a bit of a misnomer.  The bold jewels created in the years during and after WWII  were unlike anything ever seen before.  Rather than being reminiscent of the past, as the name suggests, these gems were modern marvels that offered real style and design.

The Retro era is not typically well represented in our inventory.  We have a handful of pieces from time to time but not a lot.  Recently, these striking beauties have been popping up more and more.  I chose a colorful trio of rings that showcase everything the era was known for.

A decorative celebration of rose and yellow gold accented by a hint of platinum, this whimsical ring combines a botanical vibe with asymmetrical flair.  The trumpet blossom and berry configuration features eight round diamonds that have a total weight of .20 carat and fourteen rubies that have a total weight of .35 carat.  This ring is priced at $1980.00,

Resembling a buckle, this ring is  14 karat rose gold with platinum trim.  A spray of eight rubies are set in a semi-circle on the outer edge…  these bright red gems have a combined weight of .25 carat.  Accenting the tongue portion of the buckle style are four round diamonds that have a total weight of .20 carat.  The round shape of the ring is pleasing to the eye… this fun piece is priced at $975.00,

Finally, we have the wonderous ribbon ring featured on the far left side of this threesome.  The oversize scrolls are made from 14 karat rose gold.  The ring is decorated with twenty-one round diamonds, each set in platinum trim.  These diamonds have a combined weight of 1.00 carat.  Bringing an element of color to the design are eight round rubies.  Set between the diamonds, these bold red gems have a combined weight of .50 carat.  My favorite of the three, this ring is priced at $3,250.00.

If you’ve been looking to add something unique to your jewelry wardrobe, look no further.  Retro is the way to go.

Ribbons and Bows

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling and Meaningful Things

In a couple of weeks, we will celebrate the special women in our lives.  May 9th is Mother’s Day, but this momentous occasion isn’t just for moms.  We honor our mothers, grandmas, stepmoms, sisters, wives, daughters, nieces and friends.  These ladies are an integral part of our lives.  In my family, the women are the strength and lifeblood of the home.  They are breadwinners and homemakers; caregivers and comforters.  These women keep our family tied together.

A ribbon tied into a bow symbolizes strength and unity.  This double looped knot with trailing tails has been a significant theme in fine jewelry for hundreds of years.  Made of 14 karat white gold, this ring from the 1960’s is formed from a pair of whimsical bows.  One tail from each bow unfurls and wraps around the center stone.  A rich red oval ruby is set at a jaunty angle in the middle of the ring.  Weighing 1.10 carats, this crimson stone is the heart of this Mid-Century beauty.  Subtle sparkle and shine are added with fourteen single-cut diamonds…  they have a combined weight of .25 carat.  Every element of this ring sings in perfect harmony.

Like the inspirational ladies in our lives, this ring is a visual representation of strength and unity.  What more appropriate gift could you give this Mother’s Day?  Priced at just $675, this ring is available on our site.  Add it to your cart before someone else does!
