Made in the 1950’s, this 14-karat gold beauty is deceptively simple. Five narrow golden wires create the frame of the bracelet. Interspersed within those wires are six tiny leaves with a diamond in the middle of each one. Twenty-eight additional round diamonds create a halo around the center stone – a stunning cornflower blue cushion-shaped sapphire weighing 6.62 carats.
Accompanied by a report from the Gemological Institute of America, this bright blue beauty is from Sri Lanka (formerly known as Ceylon). For more than two thousand years, Sri Lanka has been bringing us the finest sapphires in the world. Known for phenomenal color, these gemstones are breathtakingly beautiful. The GIA report offers yet another important bit of information – our gemstone is unheated. Only .5-1% of the sapphires mined are of gem quality without treatment. Natural untreated, unheated sapphires are far more rare and much more valuable than treated sapphires.
