Joden Girl
Baubles, Bling, and Choice Things
Each week, I talk to Joe about the pieces I’ve selected for Joden Girl. My choices are always about reactions – maybe you’ll love it, maybe you won’t. Usually Joe and I agree – but sometimes we don’t. This week is one of those weeks. As I handed my pick across the desk to Joe, the words were already coming out of my mouth… “I know you’re going to hate these…”
I placed these earrings in his hand and finished my thought… “I don’t know why, but something about them really appeals to me!” Of course, I was right. Joe doesn’t hate them, but he definitely doesn’t think they’re worth blogging about!
Made from 9 karat yellow gold, these simple wire-wrapped style dangles are so fun! I love the artistic charm of them. A thin band of gold envelopes the center of a pair of uncut white topaz. The stones aren’t perfectly matched (which only adds to their allure) but light bounces off the large flat faceting -enchanting, really. The final detail is a small round opal, bezel set on the front of each earring. Again, the opals are not matched, one is noticeably larger then the other. I love the imperfectness of them! These are a steal at just $350.
Perhaps Marilyn Monroe said it best – “Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it’s better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.”
“Go to our site and look, then come to us and touch.”
