Joden Girl
Baubles, Bling and the Latest Things
Sometimes you have to trust your gut. Writing two blogs a week requires continuous searching, treasure-hunting and a keen eye. Over the years, I have been awe-struck by some of the finest pieces of jewelry to ever cross the threshold of Joden Jewelers. I have also arbitrarily passed over thousands and thousands of ordinary bits and baubles. Some pieces from the first category have made it here – to the blog; those in the secondary category never do.
Occasionally, something will give me pause… and then gets tossed back into the seemingly endless abyss of jewelry. If I come across the piece again and it makes me pause a second time – then I dig a little deeper. These earrings are an ideal example. Complete with a flowing skirt and ballet slippers, a ballerina performs a perfect arabesque pose.
Made from 14-karat yellow gold, these charming earrings have that certain something. A series of small white pearls highlight the ruffled edge of the matte-finish skirt. Another slightly larger pearl is held aloft between her hands. Further accenting the costume are six rubies, four emeralds, six sapphires and four diamonds. Between the pearls and gemstones is a pierced, lacy border.
On the back of the earrings is the hallmark for Carl D. Lindstrom – a jeweler known for fine gold creations accented with colored stones and diamonds. I can’t quite put my finger on what it is about these earrings. Perhaps it’s the swirl of her skirt, the motion of her body, or maybe even the flirtatious tilt of her head – they just have something. And it’s SO good. Priced at $1,350.00, they’re available now.
